On Friday, February 15th 2008 over 29 ECA alumni gathered in the Alumni Resource Center to listen to a seminar on grant writing lead by Koba Jabanishvili, ’06 FLEX alumnus. Koba shared his experience in grant writing with interested FLEX and UGRAD alumni. He talked about his previous FLEX group grant project, entitled Widely Open World (WOW), which was last year’s FLEX Group Grant winner, and he discussed many important aspects of grant projects connected to the FLEX program. Koba explained step by step the importance of grant projects not only in Georgia but also in the wider world, and afterwards he specifically went trough the FLEX grant application form and discussed how to best write proposal narratives and budgets. Koba explained in details all aspects of the procedures of how fund transfers and budget reporting works for FLEX grant projects. The alumni had an opportunity to share their ideas on the grant program and came up with several very interesting general grant proposal ideas.
